Daicel Polymer Ltd. to Open a Sales Base in Guangzhou, China
Daicel Polymer Ltd. (Masayuki Mune, President, based in Minato-ku, Tokyo) will open a Guangzhou Branch of Shanghai Daicel Polymers, Ltd. (referred to as Daicel Polymer Guangzhou) on October 8, 2010 to further expand and strengthen sales and market development in the South China market, centered around Guangzhou.
Based on formulation technologies built up in Japan, the Daicel Polymer group is pursuing formulation development in Shanghai, China. The company is particularly strong in the areas of quality control and formulation technologies using materials domestically from China.
Accompanying changes in the market environment and the continued rise of the yen against other currencies, there has been a steep rise in inquiries regarding resin compounds from the product development divisions of Japanese clients that are primarily producing automotive parts for the Chinese domestic market. Daicel Polymer Guangzhou was established in the city of Guangzhou to meet this rising demand as a Branch of Shanghai Daicel Polymers, Ltd., which is already engaged in making resin compounds.
Daicel Polymer Guangzhou is being operated in close coordination with Shanghai Daicel Polymers, Ltd. and Daicel Polymer (Hong Kong) Ltd., whose main business is exporting to South China. Business expansion is further planned in conjunction with other companies in the Daicel Polymer Group, both in Japan (Daicel Polymer Ltd.) and Singapore (Daicel Chemical (Asia) Pte. Ltd.).
